South Korean rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae is leading the individual all-around rhythmic gymnastics event at the 2015 Asian Championships.

On the first day of the event on Wednesday in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, Son led the competition, scoring 18-point-100 points in hoop and 17-point-600 in ball. Her combined tally of 35-point-700 was zero-point-300 points higher than Uzbekistan's Elizaveta Nazarenkova who came in second place.

Son won a gold medal in the all-around finals at the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2013.

In the group event, the South Korean team is second behind the Uzbek team with a score of 68-point-650.
