Maestro Chung to Perform in Pyongyang with German Orchestra in Nov.

South Korean maestro Chung Myung-whun will perform a concert in Pyongyang in November with a German orchestra based in Dresden.

Chung, who leads the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, said on Thursday in Paris that the Staatskapelle Dresden orchestra plans to visit Pyongyang after a concert in Seoul on its November tour to South Korea and China.

Since the 2012/2013 season, Chung is serving as principal guest conductor of the German orchestra, which was founded in 1548.

North Korea's Unhasu Orchestra and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra held a joint performance in Paris in 2012 under the baton of Chung.
