S. Korea Knocked out of Women's World Cup in 3-0 Loss to France

South Korea has failed to advance to the quarter-finals at the Women’s World Cup, following a three-nil loss to France.
 
In Canada on Sunday, Team Korea ceded a goal to Marie-Laure Delie in just the fourth minute, followed by a goal from Elodie Thomis in the eighth minute. Delie scored yet again in the second minute of the second half.
 
South Korea, ranked 18th, was overmatched against third-ranked France, especially as forward Ji So-yun sat out the game due to an injury.
 
Although South Korea failed to advance to the quarter-finals, it reached the knockout stage for the first time. During the group stage the team dropped two-zero to Brazil, tied two-all with Costa Rica and pulled out a come from behind two-one victory over Spain to rank second in Group E.
