National Assessment of Educational Achievement exams were carried out in middle and high schools across the nation on Tuesday.
 
The tests were administered to students in their third year of middle school and second year of high school.
 
Students were tested on the Korean language, English and math. Middle school students were also tested in social studies and science.
 
The National Assessment of Educational Achievement exam has been administered since 1986 to gather data which is used to improve curricula and devise supplemental material for students who are falling behind.
