The New York Festivals, one of the largest advertising award events in the world, has kicked off in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province.
  
Exhibitions as well as previews and screenings of advertisements and films will be held in venues around the city from Wednesday through Friday.
 
Cultural events, such as concerts and traditional performances, will also take place.
 
It is the second time that the New York Festivals has been held in Asia, following China in 2010. The event is recognized as one of the three largest advertising festivals in the world, along with the Clio Awards and the Cannes Lions.
