South Korea added to their medal tally with gold medals in archery, taekwondo and judo on Tuesday at the Gwangju Summer Universiade.
In archery, Kim Jong-ho won his third gold medal in the men’s individual compound final, becoming the first athlete to win three golds at the Gwangju Universiade.
Before defeating compatriot Kim Tae-yoon 147-145 in the individual compound final, Kim secured two gold medals in the team compound and the mixed team events.
In women’s archery, Song Yun-soo also picked up two gold medals by winning the individual compound title and the mixed team event as well.
In taekwondo, Bae Jong-beom won the men's individual title in the demonstrative form of the traditional Korean martial art.
Judoka Kim Won-jin picked up gold in the men’s under 60 kilo event. On the women's side, Jeong Bo-kyeong added gold in the women’s under 48 kilo event while Kim Ji-youn also took gold in the women's open weight division.
In men’s synchronized 10 meter platform diving event, Kim Yeong-nam and Kim Jin-yong added a silver medal.
In shooting, Kim Mi-so won a silver medal in the women’s 50 meter rifle prone event after losing to Jambozorg Mahlagha of Iran.
