[Universiade 2015] S. Korea Wins Nine More Gold Medals on Day 5

South Korea won nine gold medals at the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade on Tuesday.
 
South Korean archer Kim Jong-ho became the first athlete to win three medals at the games by clinching gold in the individual, men’s team and mixed team compound archery events.
 
In addition to her medal from the compound mixed team event, Song Yun-soo also won the individual women’s compound archery to grab two gold medals.
 
In judo, Kim Won-jin won gold in the men’s under-60 kilogram event, Jeong Bo-kyeong in the women’s under-48 kilogram event and Kim Ji-youn in the women’s open event.
 
South Korea also picked up two gold medals in the taekwondo poomsae event, which is a demonstrative form of the traditional Korean martial art.
 
As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, South Korea sits atop the leaderboard, with 20 gold, eleven silver and eleven bronze medals.
