The domestic flick the "Northern Limit Line" has recorded the highest ticket sales among Korean movies released so far this year.

The movie's local distributor "NEW" said Friday that "Northern Limit Line" surpassed three-point-87 million moviegoers as of noon on Friday to top the previous record held by "Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island."

"The Northern Limit Line", depicting a bloody inter-Korean naval skirmish in 2002, is expected to exceed four million in audience numbers at the box office this weekend.
