2015 Pyeongchang Biennale Kicks Off Thursday

The 2015 Pyeongchang Biennale kicked off on Thursday.
 
The event's opening ceremony was held at the Alpensia Music Tent, located in the Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, joined by Gangwon Province Governor Choi Moon-soon and artists whose works were on display.
 
The biennale will feature a themed exhibition, three special exhibitions, a fair and art programs in 17 locations through December.
 
The themed exhibition under the title “Élan Vital,” or “leap of life,” will be held at the resort while special exhibitions will open in Yongpyeong Resort as well as cities and districts around Gangwon Province.
 
The biennale is being held with hopes for the success of the 23rd Olympic Winter Games in 2018 in Pyeongchang.
