Park In-bee Confirmed as Winner of Rolex Annika Major Award

South Korean golfer Park In-bee has been named the winner of the Rolex Annika Major Award, following her victory at the Ricoh Women’s British Open on Sunday.

The LPGA on Sunday confirmed that Park will receive the honor, which is awarded to the player with the best overall performance in five women’s majors each year.

Park won another major this year, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and had a strong finish at the other two—a tie for third at the U.S. Women’s Open and a tie for 11th at the ANA Inspiration.

One more major, the Evian Championship, is left, but the 27-year-old South Korean has already secured 138 points in total, denying her rivals a chance to catch up. The award ceremony will be held at the Evian Championship next month.

Named after Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam, the Rolex Annika Major Award was created last year when Korean American Michelle Wie won the inaugural award.
