During the competition in Gabala, Azerbaijan on Thursday, the 18-year-old shooter claimed the men's ten-meter air pistol gold with 199 points.

It was Kim's second medal at the ISSF competition, following a bronze medal in the 50-meter air pistol event earlier this week. With the gold, he also secured a spot on the Olympic team.

Kim is the second South Korean shooter to win two medals in a World Cup event after Olympic champion Jin Jong-oh.
