KBS Future Forum Invites Renowned Scholars to Discuss S. Korea's Future

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule, a two-day forum on the future of South Korea will kick off next Monday at KBS in Yeouido, Seoul.

At the KBS Future Forum, globally renowned scholars and experts will take part in three sessions that will focus on social unity, economic reform and unification of the two Koreas.

Nobel Peace Prize laureate José Ramos-Horta and World Future Society President Amy Zalman will each present opening speeches at a kick-off ceremony that will air live on KBS 1TV at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Following the opening, panelists including economist Guy Sorman will discuss social unity during the first session.

On Tuesday, Todd G. Buchholz who served as White House director of economic policy under President George H. W. Bush will participate in the second session on economic reform. Former U.S. Ambassador to Seoul Christopher Hill will give a lecture during the forum's third and final session on the unification of South and North Korea.

KBS has planned the forum in hopes of seeking solutions to the nation's practical challenges. Those hoping to attend the sessions can register online by Friday at http://kbsforum.com/.
