Former president of the Korea Football Association, Chung Mong-joon, has returned home after announcing his candidacy for FIFA’s top post in Paris.

Arriving in Incheon International Airport on Tuesday, Chung told reporters that he will try to visit all of the 209 FIFA member nations to win support for his bid until FIFA elects its new president in February next year.

The former FIFA vice president said that current President Sepp Blatter should step down immediately because he is not fulfilling his duties as FIFA president and called on FIFA to convene an emergency meeting to select a capable interim president.

The new FIFA president will be elected on February 26 next year in Zurich, Switzerland.
