IOC President Arrives in S. Korea

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach arrived in South Korea Wednesday morning.

The organizing committee said the IOC chief will attend a luncheon hosted by Pyeongchang 2018 Organizing Committee President Cho Yang-ho, joined by representatives from the corporate sponsors of the 2018 Winter Olympics.

On Wednesday afternoon, Bach will pay a courtesy visit to President Park Geun-hye at the presidential office and discuss cooperation between the IOC and Seoul to ensure a successful Winter Games.

Bach is visiting South Korea with the chair of the IOC's Coordination Commission on Pyeongchang, Gunilla Lindberg, and the IOC's executive director, Christophe Dube.

After his two-day trip to Seoul, Bach will depart for Beijing on Thursday to attend the 2015 World Championships in Athletics, set to open on Saturday.
