South Korea’s football team has defeated Iran 13-0 in the AFC Under-19 Women’s Championship.
 
In the first match of Group B in Nanjing, China on Wednesday, the team led by coach Jeong Seong-chun thrashed Iran, scoring five goals in the first half alone.
 
South Korea will next face Thailand on Saturday. 
 
Eight countries including South and North Korea, China and Japan are participating in the tournament. 
 
The AFC U-19 Women’s Championship serves as the qualifier for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2016 in Papua New Guinea. The top three teams of the tournament will qualify for the competition.
