The South Korean government will revise quarantine laws on May 2nd, enabling the nation to isolate patients proven to be infected by SARS until they are fully healed from the disease.
According to the revised laws, the government will also forcefully isolate those suspected to be infected with SARS for 10 days, and will designate additional hospitals maintained exclusively for treating patients afflicted by the respiratory disease.
The government also plans to increase the number of personnel examining passengers entering Incheon International Airport.
Prime Minister Koh Kun announced the measures Monday after holding a special meeting for the prevailing cases of SARS patients.
Prime Minister Koh also said he would present a bill to parliament in order to set aside supplementary budgets worth 6 billion won to be used for SARS-related quarantine and sanitation.
