Park’s Hanbok Showcased at Korean Fashion Exhibition in Paris

An exhibition of the traditional Korean garment “hanbok” is now open in Paris to mark the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and France.

Among the array of 270 hanbok outfits on display are two dresses worn by President Park Geun-hye, including a red, yellow and blue hanbok worn for her inauguration.

The other hanbok features a bright orange jacket and a pale pink embroidered skirt the president wore for a welcome reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to the U.K. in November, 2013.

Opening last Friday at the Decorative Arts Museum in Paris, the “Korea Now” exhibition will run until January 3, showcasing traditional and contemporary fashion of Korea.
