Organizers bidding for the 20-10 Winter Games are confident they can win the vote.
Pyeongchang city in the eastern Kangwon Province is competing against Vancouver in Canada and Salzburg, Austria.
The International Olympic Committee's evaluation commission said in a key report published on Friday that the three cities could all organize "very good" Olympics.
The Governor of Kangwon Province and president of the bid committee said he is satisfied with the final report.
The report said Pyeongchang's bid was well prepared and well supported by the public. The report also cited South Korea's past experience of hosting such international events as the 1988 Summer Olympic Games and last year's soccer World Cup.
But the report pointed out a potential "challenge" in terms of the number and differing standards of hotel rooms.
IOC members will meet on July second to vote on the venue.
