Written: 2003-05-04 00:00:00Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

The number of people who took flights at Incheon International Airport plunged around thirty-seven percent last month over the same period last year to some one-point-six million. A report released by the airport attributed the slump to the aftermath of the Iraq war and fears related to SARS. Compared with the same period last year, the number of flights also decreased around five percent and the amount of freight fell by approximately two percent. However, airport officials expect the number of passengers to increase starting the middle of this month as the SARS scare appears to be gradually subsiding.
