The World Taekwondo Headquarters has successfully concluded six weeks of training for taekwondo experts from underdeveloped countries.

The organization, also known as Kukkiwon, said Thursday that it held a ceremony in Muju, North Jeolla Province, handing out diplomas to 42 trainees from 26 countries for completing the 240-hour program.

The taekwondo coaches and athletes who participated in the program received systematic training on taekwondo theory and skills. They also had the opportunity to experience South Korean culture.

Ahead of the diploma-presenting ceremony, trainees watched a video of their training and took part in a joint taekwondo performance they had practiced together.

Trainees who completed the latest program were granted third-degree black belts which make them eligible to teach taekwondo.
