S. Korea Wins Gold at World Taekwondo Grand Prix

South Korea's Lee Dae-hoon won a gold medal at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series 3.

The victory has brightened prospects of the 23-year-old possibly competing in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, next year.

In the final of the men's 68-kilogram class event held at Manchester Regional Arena in the UK, Lee crushed his Iranian rival Yaghoubi Jouybari 16 to 7 and took the gold.

The win has raised Lee's Olympic ranking to second. Those in the top six slots can automatically advance into the main round of the Rio Olympics next year.
