The South Korean team led by coach Choi Jin-cheul grabbed the victory in its first match of Group B in Coquimbo, Chile. Jang Jae-won scored the winning goal 34 minutes into the second half.
With the victory, South Korea secured the top spot in Group B gaining three winning points.
