Renowned South Korean artist Chun Kyung-ja passed away two months ago at 91 years old in the United States.
 
Chun's daughter Lee Hye-seon belatedly delivered the obituary in an interview with a local paper published Thursday.

She said that the female painter passed away at her home in New York at the beginning of August after suffering cerebral hemorrhage in 2003.
 
The daughter held a quiet funeral without informing the public.
 
Chun, who was born in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, became a painter after studying in Japan. Her work featuring women and flowers is among the most beloved from a female artist in South Korea.
 
Chun had been staying in New York with her daughter after donating some 90 works of art to the Seoul Museum of Art in 1998.
