Anchor: A video clip promoting South Korea overseas has received more than 20 million hits online. It is seen as an unusual feat as it tops views of most pop music videos and takes a unique approach to promoting the nation.

Report: The latest viral video out of South Korea is not K-pop song but a promotional video by the Korea Tourism Organization.
 
The 74-second video dubbed “Korea. Your Story” has garnered more than 20 million views since it was first posted on YouTube in late July.
 
The number is staggering, considering that previous videos featuring popular artists like Big Bang drew less than five million views even after a year. 
 
As of Friday afternoon, the figure is nearing 23 million.
 
Foreigners in South Korea such as Polina Yakobleva from Russia say they have been recommending the video to their friends.

"[The] first time, it was like a musical. So I really liked it, so I really recommended it to all my friends."

Insiders say the key to going viral was thinking outside the box.
 
Instead of featuring pop stars urging viewers to visit South Korea, the video combined South Korea's beautiful nature with the healthy lifestyles of the people.
 
Filmed at some 80 locations around the country, the video showcases an array of scenes that are uniquely Korean.
 
The initiative which breaks the stereotype of promotional videos still receives some 100-thousand views each day, helping to pitch the diverse attractions of South Korea to the world.
