KBS World Radio Hosts S. Korea-Arab Walkathon in Seoul

A walkathon hosted by KBS World Radio as a friendly sports event between South Korea and the Middle East was held Saturday at the Olympic Park Peace Plaza in southern Seoul.

Some eleven-hundred people took part in the event including Arab ambassadors, students and fans of Korean pop culture. KBS World Radio hosted the walkathon to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of its Arabic language service.

In the very first South Korea-Middle East friendly sports event held in Korea, participants walked four kilometers around the park and spent a meaningful time examining the past and present of Korean and Middle Eastern cooperation and crafting future relations.

Founded in 1953, KBS World Radio is the largest and oldest international radio network in South Korea with eleven different language services and a combined transmission time of 65 hours a day.
