Gov't Approves SARS-fighting Budget

The National Institute of Health has approved six point six billion won in emergency expenditures to fight SARS.

The budget includes spending for SARS treatment hospitals, quarantine efforts and the purchase of equipment, such as heat-sensitive camera used for temperature checks.

Meanwhile, diagnoses of SARS will be made faster as the Polymerase Chain Reaction test kit the health institute ordered from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has arrived.
