The National Institute of Health says the first probable SARS victim in the country has tested negative for the polymerase chain reaction test, which detects the coronavirus that causes the deadly respiratory disease. The health institute said Wednesday that it was still waiting for the outcome of an anti-body examination from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, noting the PCR test sometimes made errors in testing for the coronavirus. The president of the institute, Kim Moon-shik, said he expects the U.S. disease center to notify the outcome of the anti-body test in two or three days.
