Applications to Close for Writers of State-Authored Textbooks

Applications to become a writer for South Korea's state-authored history textbooks will close on Monday.

The National Institute of Korean History plans to select 25 people, including professors, researchers and teachers, to write eight sections such as prehistoric times, ancient, modern and contemporary history.

The deadline to submit applications is 6 p.m. Monday and the institute will inform the selected authors on Friday.

The institute will invite around ten additional authors to compose a team of about 40 writers by November 20.
