Monument Longing for Reunification of Koreas Erected in Berlin

A Korean monument has been erected in the German capital city of Berlin in a spirit of longing for the reunification of the two Koreas.

Seoul National University's Institute for Peace and Unification Studies said Monday that it set up the monument where the Berlin Wall stood before it was torn down in 1989.

Shaped like a traditional Korean gate, the monument will stand for three months.

The institute said the monument, completed after one year of work, signifies the beginning of communications for reunification.
