Minnesota Twins Win Negotiating Rights for Park Byung-ho

The Minnesota Twins have won the right to negotiate with South Korean slugger Park Byung-ho.

The team tweeted on Monday that it won the negotiating rights for Park of South Korean baseball team Nexen Heroes. Major League Baseball (MLB) also announced the news on its Web site.

Nexen said Saturday that it had accepted the winning bid of 12-point-85 million dollars in a league-wide silent auction for infielder Park.

The Twins have earned the right to negotiate with Park for 30 days. If they reach an agreement, Park will be the second South Korean position player to make the jump from the Korea Baseball Organization to the MLB via posting following Kang Jung-ho.
