Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director Chung Myung-whun will conduct the Seoul Phil's nine regular concerts scheduled for next year.
 
Chung's contract as the music director ends this year, but rather than resign he has decided to conduct performances that have already been scheduled for next year.
 
Among next year's concerts is a collaboration with pianist Cho Seong-jin, the winner of the renowned International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition this year.  
 
Meanwhile, the Seoul Phil is said to be trying to persuade Chung to remain in his post.
