670 Complaints Filed Over College Entrance Exam Questions

The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation received some 670 complaints as of Monday morning related to questions and answers on this year’s college entrance exam.

Questions and seemingly flawed answers in the science section drew the largest number of complaints at some 280. About 140 complaints were filed regarding social studies, followed by 100 each for Korean and English.

The most prominent complaints were that multiple answers should be recognized for questions six and 18 in the Physics I section and question number four in the Geoscience I section.

Some students claimed that all answer choices should be recognized as correct for question number 19 on the type-A Korean test, which they said had a logical error.

The KICE will collect complaints about exam questions until 6 p.m. Monday and announce final decisions at 5 p.m. on November 23 after a review.
