A Philippine American who arrived in Korea Sunday is being examined under quarantine after showing symptoms of severe acute respiratory syndrome. The National Institute of Health said the man in his 80s is highly likely to be categorized as the second probable SARS patient in the country given that his X-ray results showed pneumonia signs. The health institute said the man left Manila on Sunday and arrived at Incheon International Airport to change planes to fly to San Francisco. He is believed to have stayed in Manila for around two weeks. The institute said a day before leaving the Philippines on Saturday, the man began showing signs of SARS with high fever, coughs and respiratory difficulties. The health agency is tracking down five passengers who were seated near the Philippine American and eleven flight attendants who were aboard. A panel of SARS experts will take the X-rays of the man again some time Monday and make a final determination on the patient.
