S. Korea Beats US to Win Inaugural Premier 12 Baseball Tournament

South Korea clobbered the United States to become the first winner of the inaugural Premier 12 baseball tournament.

In the final held at Tokyo Dome Saturday evening, Korea hammered the United States eight to zero, thanks to Park Byung-ho's outstanding performance.

Park led Team Korea's offense with a three-run homer in the fourth inning which hit the upper part of the Tokyo Dome.

Starting pitcher Kim Kwang-hyun also helped bring home the victory for the Korean squad by throwing five shutout innings.

Taking the first Premier 12 title, South Korea has won a prize of one million dollars or about one-point-14 billion won.
