A foundation has been formed to deepen understanding of the literary achievements of renowned South Korean poet Ko Un. 
 
The committee establishing the Ko Un foundation met Monday in Sunwon, Gyeongi Province. They selected Chairman Kwon Young-bin of the Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics as the foundation’s first president.
 
The foundation will build an archive of the poet’s works, and collect and preserve related materials. In cooperation with the Suwon city government, it will work to build a museum dedicated to the poet.
