The National Institute of Health (NIH) said Monday it categorized an American transit passenger in his eighties as a probable case of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) after thorough medical examinations.

The ethnic Filipino arrived at Incheon International Airport Sunday afternoon from Manila. As he showed symptoms similar to those of SARS he was hospitalized in an isolation ward for further examination.
