South Korea has won a medal at the Bobsleigh World Cup for the first time.
South Korean bobsledders Won Yun-jong and Seo Young-woo finished third in a two-man event on Saturday in Altenberg, Germany. The duo achieved the feat with a combined time of one minute and 53-point-02 seconds after two runs.
The South Korean team was just zero-point-02 seconds behind the Latvian team that came in second. Germany grabbed gold, finishing at one minute and 52-point-56 seconds.
Previously, the Won-Seo team finished fifth at the World Championships held in February this year, the highest ranking they attained in their career.
Another South Korean two-men team of Kim Dong-hyun and Jun Jeong-lin set their personal record by finishing 13th at the World Cup.
In men's skeleton event, also on Saturday, South Korean sledder Yun Sung-bin came in 12th with a combined time of one minute and 55-point-01 seconds after two runs.
