'S. Korea Cooperating Well on 2018 Winter Olympics Preparations'

A senior official of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) says that South Korea is coopering well with efforts to prepare for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

The chair of the IOC’s Coordination Commission Gunilla Lindberg presented the assessment on Wednesday at the closing of the sixth IOC project review in Gangneung, Gangwon Province.

Lindberg said that results were productive in the review of South Korea’s preparations, including venues and test events.

The IOC official said that she witnessed active cooperation from the provincial government as well as the South Korean government.

During the two-day review, the IOC checked the organizing committee's marketing strategy, athletes' villages, accommodations, and preparations for test events ahead of the Winter Games.

The seventh review is set for Pyeongchang in May next year.
