Park Byung-ho expressed a strong appetite to win on the first day of meeting his fans in the United States.
During an introductory news conference Wednesday at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the 29-year-old South Korean slugger said in English that he wants to win a championship.
Park said he is satisfied with the contract with the Twins, because he prioritizes chasing his dream over money.
He said he will try to be perfectly ready to adjust to the U.S. big league.
On Tuesday, Park signed a multi-year contract with Minnesota that could earn him up to 18 million dollars over five years.
Park, who played for the Nexen Heroes at the Korea Baseball Organization league, finished the 2015 season with a point-343 batting average, 53 home runs and 146 RBIs, a league record in 140 games.
He also notched personal bests of 181 hits, 129 runs scored and 35 doubles.
