South Korea achieved its best results ever at the sambo championships in Kazakhstan.
Lee Jin-woo grabbed the gold medal in the 82-kilogram combat sambo event at the Astana Asian Championships and added a bronze medal in the 82-kilogram sports sambo event.
South Korea secured one gold and five bronze medals in the competition.
Sambo, which translates as "self-defence without weapons," is the martial art developed for Russia's military and police force in the 1930s.
