Rival parties have prayed for love and hope on Christmas.
 
In a written statement, Spokesman Lee Jang-woo of the ruling Saenuri Party said Friday that the party will serve the people humbly and sacrifice itself for the country, remembering the meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ.
 
The party also asked people to give comfort and hope to neighbors in need.
 
Spokesman Kim Sung-soo of the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD) said in a news briefing that the party prays that Christ’s love will light up the dark and cold places of Korean society and that all people will find peace and comfort in their minds on Christmas.
