A slew of cultural activities are lined up in January to celebrate the new year.
A New Year's concert will be held at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pansori performer Lee Ja-ram, singer-songwriter Hareem, janggu player Min Young-chi as well as the Seoul Metropolitan Traditional Music Orchestra, the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Traditional Music Orchestra, the Seoul Metropolitan Chorus and the Seoul Metropolitan Junior Chorus will make appearances.
At Sejong Center's M Theater, a musical adaption of Shakespeare's "The Tempest" will be staged from January 13 through the 31. Children are welcome and English subtitles will be provided.
The Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) will host an exhibition featuring the works of esteemed film director Stanley Kubrick until March 13. As the first to host the exhibition in Asia, SeMA hopes to inspire creativity and a spirit of adventure.
The Seoul Museum of History is holding a special exhibition titled "Gyeonghuigung Palace Still Lives" until March 13. It features some 200 relics and drawings, walking visitors through the palace's establishment in the Joseon Dynasty to its recent restoration.
