N. Korea Ends Anti-MERS Measures at Gaeseong Factory Park

North Korea has lifted its access ban on South Koreans to the Gaeseong Industrial Complex, which was placed amid the spread of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in the South.

A Unification Ministry official said that Pyongyang notified Seoul Monday of its decision to put an end to all of its anti-MERS measures.

The official added that from Monday, North Korea stopped conducting body temperature checks on South Korean workers at the factory park and lifted its rule requiring them to wear protective masks.

On Wednesday, the Seoul government will retrieve the three heat detectors it lent to North Korea in June last year.
