The organizing committee for the Pyeongchang Olympics said Wednesday that it has completed preparations for the first test run ahead of the 2018 Winter Games.
The committee said it is ready for the FIS Ski World Cup to be held at the Jeongseon Alpine Center next month, as installation of snowmaking systems and the gondola at the venue have been completed.
The announcement was made after delays in installing the facilities had worried the International Ski Federation(FIS).
The Pyeongchang organizing committee said it is conducting a test run of the snowmaking systems and the gondola, adding that it is also putting the finishing touch on freezing the snow and installing the safety net.
The FIS Ski World Cup is the first of a series of 28 test events in Pyeongchang leading up to the 2018 Winter Games.
The FIS will decide on January 20th whether to allow the Jeongseon Alpine skiing test event to be run as scheduled.
