The South Korean men’s football team has secured its berth in the final regional qualification round for the 2018 Russia World Cup.
 
The qualification came due to a FIFA sanction against Kuwait that forced the country to forfeit last November's qualifier match against Myanmar.

FIFA accused the Kuwaiti government of meddling in sports administration, and marked Kuwait’s delayed match with Myanmar as a 3-0 defeat for the Arab country.
 
The disqualification means South Korea qualifies for the final regional qualification round for the 2018 Russia World Cup, regardless of the outcome of the two remaining games it has in Group G of the ongoing preliminary round.
 
South Korea has won all six games so far without drawing or losing.
