S. Korean Men's Football Team Defeats Uzbekistan in U-23 Asian Championship

The South Korean men’s Olympic football team won its first game of the U-23 Asian Football Confederation Championship.
 
The team defeated Uzbekistan 2-1 in its first match of the championship on Wednesday in Qatar.

South Korean midfielder Moon Chang-jin scored both goals for South Korea, which ranks second following Iraq in Group C. Iraq ranks higher in terms of goal differentials as it beat Yemen 2-0.
 
The championship also serves as the final qualifying round for the upcoming Olympics. The top three countries gain qualification to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
 
South Korea faces Yemen on Saturday. Japan defeated North Korea 1-0 in a Group B match on Wednesday.
