Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has designated January 26 to commemorate students' human rights.
 
The education office held a ceremony on Tuesday in Seoul to declare the designation, with about 200 people in attendance including students and teachers.
 
The office plans to establish and implement a three-year comprehensive plan for students’ human rights, which include programs to create a favorable culture to improve students’ rights.
 
The designation was made under the city’s ordinance on students’ human rights, which was enacted on January 26, 2012.
