Administration to Inspect Korean Cultural Assets Abroad

The Cultural Heritage Administration will launch an inspection of Korean cultural assets abroad.

The administration said on Tuesday that as part of its policy plans for this year, an in-depth inspection will be conducted starting in March on how the assets were shipped out of the country.

The administration plans to pursue the recovery of the assets if found to have been shipped out of the country illegally.

It will also implement joint programs with municipal governments to enable major historic sites in provinces to accept visitors at night.

In addition, the administration will provide education programs at private Confucian schools, Seowon and Hyanggyo. All middle schools have adopted a free-learning semester program this year, which will allow students to participate in discussions, field trips and on-the-job training without taking exams.
