Hangeul Museum Obtains 200 Historical Korean Materials

The National Hangeul Museum has obtained some 200 historical materials written in Hangeul, the Korean phonetic writing system.

The museum said Thursday that the obtained relics include a letter written by a calligraphy master in the style used in the royal court and some 100 letters sent by queens in the late Joseon Dynasty.

A list of dowry goods for Princess Deokon, the youngest daughter of King Sunjo, was also among the items.

The museum also obtained approximately two-thousand manuscripts of Korean classical novels from Wonkwang University Professor Emeritus Park Soon-ho.
