Diverse Events Being Held in Downtown Seoul to Mark Lunar New Year

Family fun events are being held in various parts of downtown Seoul during the Lunar New Year holidays.
 
At the Seoul Plaza Ice Skating Rink participants can experience traditional folk games, including the board game Yut and the game of Tuho or pitch-pot. The event will run until Wednesday, the last day of the holidays.
 
At Unhyeongung palace, which is Seoul’s Historic Site Number 257, a fusion performance of samulnori, or traditional Korean percussion music, is being held.
 
The Namsangol Hanok Village in central Seoul, a popular spot for foreign tourists, is offering an array of events, including taste testing traditional holiday food, preparing ritual tables and reading one's fortune for the year.
 
At the Seoul Museum of History, visitors can watch a performance by a Pyongyang arts troupe consisting of North Korean defectors as well as a South Korean traditional dance show.
 
At Seoul Grand Park and the Seoul Baekje Museum people can make monkey masks as 2016 is the year of the Red Fire Monkey.
